At Sushi Telecom, we prioritize the health and well-being of our employees. Our sickness policy outlines the procedures and benefits available for both short-term and long-term sickness. Here’s what you need to know:
Short-Term Sickness Policy
- Notification: If you are unable to work due to illness, you must notify your direct supervisor or the HR department as soon as possible, ideally before your scheduled start time.
- Duration: Short-term sickness refers to absences of up to 6 weeks. During this period, you are entitled to:
- Sick Pay: You will receive 100% of your salary for the first two weeks of your absence.
- Subsequent Weeks: For the following 4 weeks, you will receive 70% of your salary.
- Medical Certificate: If your absence extends beyond 3 consecutive days, you will need to provide a medical certificate from your healthcare provider.
Long-Term Sickness Policy
- Definition: Long-term sickness refers to absences that last longer than 6 weeks.
- Notification: You should keep your supervisor and HR informed about your condition and expected return date.
- Sick Pay: For long-term sickness:
- You will be entitled to 70% of your salary after the initial 6 weeks of absence.
- This sick pay can continue for up to 24 months, depending on your situation and the terms of your employment.
- Medical Evaluation: After 6 weeks, you may be required to undergo a medical evaluation to assess your condition and discuss your recovery plan and potential return to work.
- Reintegration Plan: Sushi Telecom is committed to supporting your return to work. We will work with you to create a reintegration plan that may include part-time work or adjusted duties as needed.
Important Points to Remember
- Documentation: Keep all medical documentation and correspondence related to your sickness, as this may be required for processing sick pay or for HR records.
- Return to Work: Before returning to work after a long-term absence, you may need to provide a fitness-for-work certificate from your healthcare provider.
- Support Services: Sushi Telecom offers Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) that provide support for mental health and well-being. We encourage you to utilize these resources if needed.
